I love creating fashion forward, versatile styles that you can rock from the office to the dance floor. Short cuts that work down or up, long layers that are a nod to the big, piecey, flowy, blended hairstyles of decades past.
What’s your approach with new clients?
Listen, ask questions, get a feel for the style you want to express. It’s so important, because people know themselves and what they want to look like. I just help them get there.
Tell us about the special occasion hair you do.
I looove doing updos. Updos for me are art, I can do anything from avant garde conceptual hair to polished and poised. I’ll give you party hair for your party style.
You’re known for your amazing volumizing skills. Tell us about that.
If it’s fine, I can make it full! My haircuts that are definitely built to have body long after you’ve left the salon. I rule the 15-minute fingerwave- it’s a perfect way to add volume through texture. Or just come in for a blowout- it’ll last a few days and give you that extra special salon touch.
Why is confidence so key when it comes to hair?
Even the most standard haircut can create confidence if that’s what suits you perfectly. When the haircut’s great, you get a confidence that’s just the right fit.
Describe your style + style influences:
I love classic clean looks from eras past mixed with modern day touches. I’ll wear wingtips and a tie and still have steps in my hair. It’s good to mix things up and keep your style fresh. My style influences are Audrey Hepburn, Elvis costello, and James Dean. And we must not forget Barbara Streisand. She’s quirky and classic, just like me.
Life outside of VAIN?
I enjoy karaoke, art, photography, nature, dancing, and shopping. I am a thrift store genius. Go in with me, leave with major gems.
