If you had a motto as a hair stylist, what would it be?
“Don’t fight it.” Life shouldn’t be a struggle, and neither should your hair.

Tell us about why you became a stylist.
It’s a career that gives you so much freedom – freedom to be creative, to travel. That’s the same thing I love about being at VAIN, where we all have the freedom to express our own personalities and create the hair we love.

What inspires you when doing color?
When I first began doing hair, I came from a background in fashion design. I love the relationship between the two. In the same way a designer uses fabric, making sure it drapes properly, I can utilize color to accent, shape, and enhance.

What’s your go-to product?
Textureline Material. I love the versatility! It’s light enough for all hair types, and I would say I use it on almost every client I see. It’s great for piecing and texture.

You recently did a charity fundraiser where you rode your bike to San Francisco! What else do you do outside of work?
I like pushing boundaries, in life and in hair. I love bike riding, running, and rock climbing. Other interests like drawing and painting coincide with the creativity I use at work every day.
