Licensed stylist since 2006

What are your style influences?
Fashion history through the ages. What people have been doing with their hair since the begining of time and how it changes and is reinvented into current and modern styles.

Why did you want to become a hairstylist, and what do you like about being one?
I wanted to be a hairstylist to have a career in a creative field where I could interact with people. I enjoy meeting clients and learning about what they like about their hair and what I can do to build on that. I like hair as a renewable source for evolution of style. Changing an indivdual's entire look with a new hairstyle and product and six months later going in an entirely new direction is inspiring.

Any trends you're seeing in hair right now?
I'm seeing a return to natural texture- wavy, curly, just a little bend or stick straight. I like hair a little messy and easy to wear, so I'm glad people are embracing that.

Do you have a favorite hair styling product?
My favorite products change a lot. There's a perfect product for every style and texture of hair. I love product- it's the easiest way to change your hairstyle while working with the hair you've got.

What do you like about VAIN?
The people I work with. My co-workers are passionate about what we do and work together to create a comfortable atmosphere. I also love that VAIN is involved in several different aspects of art by having an art gallery, a boutique and going out into the community to support various creative endeavors. I feel that our involvment encourages hairstylists to be seen as artists and people to think of their hair as an artistic expression. VAIN is also involved in various community projects- that makes it unique as a hair salon and makes me proud of working here.
