Take on hair: Hair is ultra personal and the one accessory we wear every day. It needs to be as versatile and diverse as our personalities. We as people change, sometimes gradually and sometimes overnight. So should our hair.
Approach with new clients: Pictures and having a clear idea are great, I love finding a look and reinventing it to fit someone new. I also really want to know what doesn’t work for someone, you can gain a lot by defining some boundaries. Learning about a persons hair past, past mistakes or challenges and success we can build a new look together.
Influences: I am very perceptual and take in the world around me. Everything in life, from visual to emotional, influences my creativity and work as a hairstylist. I regularly take classes learning new techniques and styles of doing hair.
Approach to switching up hairstyles: I like gradual yet noticeable changes, but if you’re confident and prepared for a huge change, I’m in.
Life out side of VAIN: I have more hobbies than I do time. I’m always shopping and altering clothes I find in thrift shops. I love to read non-fiction, watch a lot of movies and TV, especially during the winter. I love animals, my puppy Willy and I go for walks and other adventures all the time. Spending time with my husband Peter, our family and friends is my biggest priority.
