Describe your signature haircuts.
I love doing all kinds of cuts, but my signature haircuts are ones that have style already built into them- anything from soft to piecey, from traditional to more layered looks and mixes of the two. I also like incorporating different types + lengths of bangs to give a cut more versatility.
What would you tell a client who has a fear of bangs?
Don’t be scared! It’s all about finding the right style of bangs for your hair texture, the shape of your face, and for your lifestyle. Whether it’s a strong side-swept bang, a blunt, heavy bang, or just one that lays soft, there really is a bang style for on everyone. And it’s so important to create a style you have time to maintain- someone who’s really busy doesn’t need a bang that needs a lot of styling or frequent trims, that sort of thing.
How about people who aren’t sure about getting layers?
I know how it is to get an overly-layered haircut (trust me!) so I get it. But when layers are done right, they can give your hair amazing fullness and movement. And I do layers right!
You’ve got some pretty sweet big hair there. What’s your secret?
Product! I love product and I love helping clients find the product combo that’s perfect for them. I’ve got big hair tips and tricks for every head of hair, so if you want volume that’s what you’ll get.
What are your style influences?
My style changes from day to day. I look through magazines and see what the style trends are for the season and put my own twist on them. I like to wear things that make me feel good about myself, and I appreciate people who do the same and aren’t scared to stand up for their look and personal style with confidence. That goes for how they wear/style their hair, too.
Interests outside of VAIN?
Outside of VAIN I’m a regular girl. I like shopping, hanging out with my friends, music, taking care of myself, animals, etc. I like looking at art and buying pieces from local artists. I take on little projects here and there to make my own. I love being creative. I have a big craft closet. I’m a huge sucker for celebrity gossip and reality TV shows. I’m always up to date on whats going on in the media.
