What do you love about doing hair and why?
It is such a fulfilling form of creation! It is an ever changing artistic industry with constant room for growth and learning. The most rewarding part of this art form is helping people feel great and encouraging them to unapologetically be themselves.

What's your secret weapon for great hair?
Don't fight it! I love working with clients to create a custom look that suits them, their lifestyle, and their hair.

What inspires you as a hairstylist?
My clients are a daily inspiration. I'm grateful to be able to interact with people from all walks of life and help them realize their style vision.

What’s your approach with new clients?
I like pairing comfort and honesty with southern charm and hospitality. Sitting down in a stylist’s chair puts clients in a vulnerable place, so I try to share that vulnerability with them. My goal is for them to be as relaxed, informed, and comfortable as possible.

What inspired you to become a hairstylist?
After some time in art school, I looked to hair as a new medium to work with. Once I realized becoming a stylist was a good fit for me, I went for it.

Tell us about your education and professional experience.
I majored in art at the University of Georgia in 2010 but soon realized that I wanted to change my path and become a stylist. So I enrolled at Athens Technical College and graduated as valedictorian and president of the cosmetology program in 2012. By that point, I was already working at a highly accomplished salon in Athens. In the years that followed, I honed my skills, volunteered for events, and took advantage of all the continuing education opportunities I could. In 2017, I left my hometown in Georgia for a new start in Seattle.

Life/interests outside of VAIN?
Outside of cutting hair, my heart and passion is in the air. I am an aerial artist focused on the single-point dance trapeze and the lyra (aerial hoop). Circus every damn day!
