What do you love about doing hair and why?
For me, it all comes down to self-expression and creativity. We all have a story to tell and I’m constantly fascinated by all the different ways people use self-expression to tell their story.
What's your secret weapon for great hair?
Doing what makes you happiest with your appearance and not worrying about what others think.
What are your hair style influences?
Dolly Parton, Johnny Ramone, Cyndi Lauper, music and styles from the 60’s and 70’s.
What inspires you as a hairstylist?
I draw inspiration from my peers and from participating in the act of transformation with my clients.
What's your approach with new clients?
I put them at ease and invite them to run with me to the creative horizon.
What's the best hair advice you've ever been given?
To quote my Betty White-esque beauty school instructor: “It’s always better to say ‘I’m sorry, I won’t’ than ‘I’m sorry, I did.’”
What inspired you to become a hairstylist?
Honestly, it found me. Doing hair has been part of my life since my teens, when I started coloring my own hair experimenting on friends who were brave enough to let me.
