Razor cuts. Modern bobs. Soft layers. Men’s hair. Blended blondes. Creative color. Balayage. Styling of all kinds. Hair to enhance natural beauty.
What do you love about doing hair?
I love interacting with interesting people and helping them express their personal style.
What are your specialties?
+ I’m great with textured razor cutting, soft layers, short hair, and men’s hair.
+ I like to do fun creative colors as well as more natural blended tones.
+ I’m all about styling. A gorgeous blowout, modern soft waves, tousled updos, big braids, or something classic…I’m pretty much up for anything.
What's your secret weapon for great hair?
I have three not-so-secret weapons:
1. Stop washing your hair so much.
2. Make an appointment at VAIN
3. A great cut and a few go-to styles will ensure your hair is always on point. Already have that? Change the color!
What are your hair style influences?
Street style, noteworthy instagrammers, runway and editorial looks, Harajuku fashion, 60’s Mod, vintage, and classic Hollywood glam
What's your approach with new clients?
I listen carefully and ask lots of questions. Once we’re on the same page we can work together to find a style that suits their hair and lifestyle. I also make sure that the cut and color complement the client’s skin tone and facial features.
What's the best hair advice you've ever been given?
Stop washing your hair everyday—with the right tools and products your second- or third-day hair can have that perfectly undone, languid sex appeal.
What inspired you to become a hairstylist?
I've always been fascinated by personal style and how you can completely change your look. When I realized I could help others define their style and achieve their vision of beauty, I knew being a hairstylist was the right fit for me.
Tell us about your education and professional experience.
I am forever the eager student and always keep an eye out for ways to learn more. After graduating from cosmetology school in 2007, I worked at an Aveda salon, where I specialized in cutting and styling and continued my education with advanced training in haircutting. After a while I missed doing hair color and decided to move to a different salon that offered regular cut, color, and styling classes. I attended Bumble and bumble University in NYC, where I took classes in razor cutting, curly cutting, design, and styling. In addition to regularly attending Vain’s monthly classes I have completed a braiding and specialty styling class and an advanced color theory, balayage, and hair painting workshop.

I thrive on the buzzing excitement backstage. I’ve styled hair for runway shows and quite a few circus shows (which I also performed in).  It’s inspiring to join forces with other artists and create together.
Interests outside of VAIN?
I’m always up for an adventure! Most days off I’m out exploring this amazing city—checking out museums and restaurants, seeing live music, strolling the farmers market. Sometimes my husband will drag me along with him up the side of a mountain, but just as often you'll find me at home making food, curled up with a good book, or watching the tv that I kind of wish I didn't own.
