Sometimes you see a cool hairdo and then the other side of it makes you wonder if you ever even knew what cool was. Case in point:

Full Disclosure [and nepotism alert]: She’s my sister!

Bijou has been cutting Caitlin’s hair for over a year now. Initially Bijou created perfect a posh bob - a gorgeous cut, but one that’s hard to maintain with a busy schedule. Since then, Bijou has helped her evolve into the cut pictured above; one that better suits her personality and one that requires half the styling commitment. Though Caitlin sees Bijou at VAIN’s Downtown location, she spent the day celebrating Ballard’s artwalk with a visit to neighboring boutique 20twenty.

Meet Tammy G. Tammy is a first-time VAIN client who came in to the salon wanting a creative new look, met with two VAIN hairstylists, and left looking incredible.

Our latest installment of Hot Hair features none other than Presidents of the United States of America drummer and VAIN regular Jason Finn, who’s seen his share of hits n’ hairdos over the years. Here, we ask Jason to share his musings on his current style and stylist.

Jason on Alexis: I have only been seeing Alexis a short time, but it seems like we go ‘way back’. After 40 years of looking at my hair every single day, I still don’t understand it, and do things like accidently turn it into a big Bozo head right before important photo shoots. I usually mumble something to a new stylist along the lines of “I dunno…it just does what it wants”. Alexis, on the other hand, knew at first glance what it takes, one curly head to another. And she slays it every time. Also, apparently we went to prom together, so I guess we do go ‘way back’.

Alexis on Jason: What can I say? Jason’s style is as effortless as his talent. And that was quite a prom night.

Yep, this guy.

Big props to Jason for embracing his curls and to Alexis for making them look so good. You’ve got VAIN’s vote for King and Queen… or prez and VP.

Goodness knows VAIN is never one to have a gender bias, so it is by ’shear’ coincidence that Lucien is our first short cut on Hot Hair! Though he’s seen many of our talented staff over the years, this cut was shaped by Ballard’s Rachel.

Lucien’s cut matches his stylish personality, but in a way that suits his busy lifestyle. It looks charmingly groomed even on the most frantic day, and can forgive a schedule that might miss the free touch up trim. We adore Lucien’s VAIN loyalty and applaud his Hot Hair and sweet smile. Commercially generated holiday or no, Valentine’s Day is in the air. How better to celebrate than perfect romantic curls?

Josephine came into VAIN Ballard to meet Alexis, and it was love at first snip. Rejuvenated curls with a soft, easy, touchable hold. With a little help from Deva Curl products and Bed Head’s Hook Up mousse wax, Alexis shapes cupid-approved locks.
