For art walk this Saturday, VAIN Ballard will be featuring the work of two local jewelers. Krissy Maier of Orangebox Jewelry explains that as a little girl, she loved to “play jewelry.” Her fascination with sparkly bits and pieces that were handed do by women in her family lead her to her signature statement line. Krissy creates eco-friendly yet very fashionable jewelry from vintage jewelry components.
Lori Linkous Devine of lolide remembers creating art and handcrafted items since kindergarten. Her work focuses on organic shapes, and clean, minimal designs. All of Lori’s piece are completely designed as well as handcrafted by her in her Seattle studio. Using such traditional jewelry techniques as soldering, riveting as well as forming she creates everything down to the clasps and ear wires. She designs everything to fit the look of each individual piece.
